Winfield Water Works

The Water Works and Sewer Board of the City of Winfield provides its customers with a reliable supply of safe, clean water and environmentally effective sewage collection and treatment.

Effective January 2021, The Water Works & Sewer Board of the City of Winfield will increase the minimum water rate to $21.00. Customers with a minimum bill, which is for 2000 gallons, or less, during the billing cycle, will be charged $21.00 plus any fees and taxes. For customers using more than the 2000 gallon minimum, an additional amount of $5.00 per 1000 gallons will be charged. As sewer is billed at 100% of water usage, if applicable to your account, sewer charges will reflect this same increase. These increases will be reflected on all customers February 2021 bills.

The Winfield Water Works & Sewer Board uses its best efforts in controlling its costs in order to keep its rates as low as possible. This rate increase was approved last year as part of a multi-year plan which was financially mandated due to ongoing upgrades of the water filtration and sewer treatment system. These upgrades, which are regulated by EPA and required by ADEM, ensure our system will continue to satisfy the mandated requirements and regulations while allowing us to maintain and improve services to meet the needs of our community.

If you have any questions about the new rate or new policies, feel free to contact our office at (205) 487-2100.
